LEADING THE MOVEMENT FOR NATIONAL
Change
We’re guided by three principles: Innovation, Inspiration, and Collaboration.
For 20 years, we have worked creatively to make child welfare more equitable and ensure better outcomes for children. By creating an innovative new model for intergenerational living, inspiring social activism, and collaborating with lived experience leaders, we are re-envisioning foster care on a national level.
Innovation
Our replicable, affordable housing model supports families parenting children from foster care, young people at risk of “aging out” of child welfare, and older adults. At Treehouse, three generations invest in each other’s lives with amazing results, and evidence of our vision — every child rooted in family and community — is visible everywhere.
We identify and celebrate leaders who have been directly impacted by the child welfare system — ReEnvisioning Foster Care in America Champions. Their wisdom and expertise helps drive a smarter, more focused national dialogue and builds dynamic new ways of re-engineering the child welfare system, from federal legislation to community programs.
Inspiration
Our INNOVATE! Podcast with host Angela Tucker is a unique opportunity to hear — and be inspired by — first-person stories and ideas from foster care alumni. It’s an accessible way to reach a limitless audience and deepen public understanding of foster care, its aftermath and ways to create change.
Collaboration
Using a community approach, we pull together expert teams of organizations and individuals to bring our intergenerational communities to life.
The Treehouse Community Model relies on a blend of public/private resources. We partner with housing developers, social service agencies, local schools, arts organizations, and the community at large to ensure the best life outcomes for children and young people.
Explore the many ways we have for you to join us and have an impact. Donate, attend our national conference, take a tour in Boston or Easthampton, find out about starting a Treehouse Community, or take an hour to listen to the INNOVATE! podcast.
